About

The Short

SCAN0003 Chezron Racing is a professional off-road desert racing team comprised of riders from Colorado, California and Baja California, Mexico.  The team’s efforts have been focused primarily south of the border, competing in the SCORE-International Desert Series.  As a team that understands the roots of the sport, we do not stop at simply competing in the races.

We bring the race to our followers by writing articles about the real stories of the race, reviewing gear, producing video segments and more. With over 50 combined years of racing experience in the Baja peninsula, Chezron Racing also offers guided off-road motorcycle tours and racing adventure packages for the riding enthusiast.

The Long

Baja started by accident in 1965, when 2 adventurous riders decided they wanted to go by motorcycle from Tijuana (just south of the U.S. border) all the way to La Paz (at the southern tip of the Baja peninsula), just to see if it could be done. But why has the race turned into a corporate affair, full of Monster logos and countless stories of Robbie Gordon or Honda winning race after race?  What about the smaller teams that are based on hard work, courage and endurance? What about the guys that don’t have their own fabrication shops with unlimited budgets?

IMG_4573 We ask ourselves the same question every day, and started racing Baja for the same reason you are probably visiting this site…because since its start, the race has evolved into one of the most challenging and best known motor sports events in all the world.  The stories of what teams have had to do to finish races from refilling a broken radiator every ten minutes with village local’s water to dodging rolling tires and booby traps set by crazy locals are what make the Baja so intense, and it does not cost a million dollars for that kind of excitement.  We race because we love it, all of it.  From the small startup teams to the million dollar trophy trucks, Baja is amazing.

Beyond racing, we hope to provide a resource for inspiration, information and ideas. We want to showcase the teams that do amazing things but don’t make the headlines, the real racers with the real stories. Instead of another headline about the big guys, we are here to present the other side of the Baja–The thousands of racers and fans that know there is more to it than building super fast trucks and bikes with big budgets. And for those of you that are interested in racing but don’t have a team to do it with we have a pay to race program that will help you get started with an experienced team.

Come join us this season as we take on the treacherous and unforgiving Baja terrain in a racing series that pits man and machine against the elements.  Starting this March at the Baja 250 and leading up to a race so demanding and extreme, that on average only 60% of the field even finishes, we will be at the 43rd Tecate SCORE-International Baja 1000. This year the race goes from  Ensenada to La Paz, November 17-21, 2010.  Follow our riders in real time with live feeds of the race at www.Brightkite.com.
